Create squads and topics
Quick answer
You can organize your team’s conversations with Squads and topics. A Squad groups your team and its discussion topics; a topic is where a conversation happens.
Create a Squad
- On your computer, open Oparo Connect.
- On the left, click Squads.
- At the top of the panel, click New squad.
- Enter a squad name — for example “Support Squad”.
- Click Create the squad.
Create a topic
- On the left, click Squads.
- At the top of the panel, click New topic.
- Enter a topic name — for example “Marketing” — and, optionally, a description.
- Click Create.
Topics are grouped as “Public topics” — open to the team — and “Private topics”, visible only to their participants.
Manage a Squad
- Open the Squad, then click Manage squad. You can:
- Add a member — bring a teammate into the Squad.
- Add a topic — attach an existing topic to the Squad.
- Rename the squad.
- Delete the squad — the Squad is removed, but its topics are kept.
- To move a topic between Squads, open the topic’s menu and click Move to a squad.
Organize a topic
At the top of any topic you can:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Add to favorites | Keeps the topic at hand under “Favorites”. |
| Mute channel | Stops notifications from this topic. Click Unmute channel to turn them back on. |
| Add a bookmark | Pins a link to the top of the topic — enter a label and a URL. |
| Details | Shows the topic’s description, participants and linked CRM records. |
Tip: Pin the messages everyone should find quickly — from a message’s menu, click Pin to topic.
